Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant Job Description
- Provide speech and language therapy services based on student’s IEP
- Collect data on student performance
- Attend IEP meetings with supervising Speech-Language Pathologist
- Fill out therapy notes for students and turn in to SLP
- Write lesson plans and provide copy to SLP
- Provide and discuss data with SLP for progress notes and goal writing
- Complete daily checks of hearing aids and FM system
- Monitor students during recess duties (Tuesdays 11:24-11:45, Wednesday 1:15-1:35 and Thursday 11:25-11:45)
- Supervise students in hallways/gyms as needed
- Develop therapy activities for students to promote learning
- Collaborate with staff regarding students
- Support transition of students throughout building
- Implement sensory strategies as part of a sensory diet determined by OT staff
- Assist SLP with administrative duties as they arise
- Communicate with special education staff and SLP
